Instructors of the Certified Pool Operatorฎ Course are authorized by the National Swimming Pool Foundation
after completing the CPO Instructor School. The CPO course content is standardized, so that students
will receive the same basic instruction wherever the course is taught. Our instructor has
years of experience in operating and managing public swimming pools. Expanding
the course to meet Florida requirements (see Florida Law), the standard
course is supplemented with pertinent articles from pool industry publications and news reports as
well as our instructor's professional experience when applicable to course concepts. Our
instructor provides emphasis on the Swimming Pool Operating Code for the state where the course is
being taught.
Our instructor holds current, active certificates from both nationally-recognized certifying agencies,
as a Certified Pool Operator / CPO (NSPF), and as an Aquatic Facility Operator
/ AFO (NRPA). Our
instructor has years of experience in aquatics working as a lifeguard, swimming instructor, city
pool manager, swim team coach, public pool operator, and as a licensed Florida Registered Swimming Pool
Servicing Contractor.
For the past 20+ years, our instructor has owned and managed a swimming pool service business,
Pool Pal, Inc., which contracts to provide routine
weekly and bi-weekly service and pool operation for more than 300 swimming pools at
condominiums, subdivisions, and high-use weekly vacation residential rentals and private properties in Santa Rosa Beach, in Northwest Florida.
Pool School Florida students consistently express appreciation for our
instructor's direct experience in providing options and solutions
to operational challenges at public and semi-public
pools.
